How to convert GBP to EUR
To convert British Pounds to Euros, multiply the amount by the current exchange rate. On 20 September 2026 that rate is 1.1645, so:
EUR = GBP × 1.1645
Backwards works identically — divide by 1.1645, or multiply by 0.85873. One Euro comes to 0.85873 British Pounds.

About the British Pound and the Euro
The British Pound (GBP, symbol £) is the currency of the United Kingdom. The Euro (EUR, symbol €) is the currency of the eurozone.
The two are quoted against each other constantly, so the rate moves throughout the trading day. The feed publishes mid-market figures, which is what financial reporting cites. Actual exchange costs a margin on top.

A price tag. Something marked £50 comes to 58.2255 EUR. Round to 58 EUR for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. £3,000 a month is 3493.53 EUR — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
